STEP Buys Houses LLC is a collaboration between the S.T.E.P. Youth Organization and a team of experienced, reputable and community minded real estate investors.

The company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau of NJ with an A+ rating, certified by the State of NJ and is operated by licensed and insured individuals. The Principal of the company is also certified as a Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource Specialist.

 

The Investment team consists of investors and licensed Realtors Ibrahim Hughes and Robert Tucker and former Mentee and now Mentor, Nantambu Nicholas.  Together the three bring to the table a combined 40 years of experience in assisting hundreds of distressed property owners save and or sell their homes.

They have now committed to inner city youth and their families by creating this ground breaking venture designed to generate funds for S.T.E.P. while teaching young people the importance of community development, ethical investing and communal and familial wealth creation.

The company's unique business model proudly addresses our Nation's homeless problem by providing free assistance to those homeowners in foreclosure and thereby keeping them in their homes. 

​

Last year alone (2022), the company helped homeowners avoid losing over $6 million in equity by helping them put a stop to their foreclosures.

 

This Real Estate Education & Investment Initiative will also allow property owners to sell an unwanted property while assisting the STEP organization in its mission to raise responsible young men capable of properly leading their families and communities.

A significant portion of the revenue generated from this venture gets donated to the STEP Organization and allows them to:  

 

  • Engage in 'Wholistic Urban Revitalization' which addresses the needs of both the property and the people of a community.

  • Remove neighborhood blight by purchasing and renovating abandoned properties.

  • Address homelessness by keeping homeowners in their homes and out of foreclosure.

  • Teach socially and economically disadvantaged young men financial literacy skills such as saving and investing, which are needed to escape generations of poverty and advance in today's economy.

  • Eventually train youth participants in highly sought after Trade skills such as plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical and HVAC repair and installation.

  • Provide scholarships to young men from inner cities to attend college, trade school or other forms of advanced education.

  • Provide quality housing to low income residents.

STEP Buys Houses is also partnered with Common Unity Real Estate LLC in providing the Free Foreclosure Assistance service, NJ Home Help.
